In February 2023, in partnership with the tourist office of Tours, I had the opportunity to organise a wine tasting based on the sweet wines of Vouvray and the desserts and candies produced in the Touraine region. Do you know any of them? Some are only produced by a few craftsmen and are therefore totally unknown outside the area, and sometimes even by some people who live in the region! Perhaps our wine tastings will be for you the opportunity to taste and discover them as well.

Galette des rois is a traditional pastry that the French eat in January. It is normally consumed on Epiphany Day, which takes place on January 6th and corresponds to the day when Jesus was presented to the Magi. If most French people buy galette des rois a the baker's, it is actually very easy to bake at home! The recipe is extremely simple, quick and so much less expensive than what you can buy at the baker's or the supermarket. A few tips about wine & food pairing conclude the article. Enjoy!

On February 4th 2022, I will host a "Wine and Vietnamese food" tasting. Before that, let's focus on Asian food and umami. Have you ever heard of this 5th flavor, which does not always have a positive effect on wines? It is not always easy to pair Asian dishes with wine. Autumn is back, and with it, the harvest season - grapes of course, but apples as well! This is the time to taste and bake a Loire Valley dessert: the winemaker's tart, originally from Chinon, is a light and crispy apple pie covered with wine jelly. I regularly serve it during the wine tastings and the picnics I organise in the vineyards. You will find it in many bakeries and pastry shops in Touraine.

During winter 2021, I tested an Italian recipe that I really like and whose ingredients include wine: a risotto with red wine and red radicchio. A very simple recipe to make for a dish with balanced flavors, which will especially delight people who appreciate a little bitterness in their food. I cooked this risotto with a wine from La Valpolicella, in north-east Italy. This article is also the opportunity to talk about wine tourism and discover the exceptional wines produced in that area.

The end of year is near, and the cool temperatures of winter are setting in. What better way to comfort ourselves than with the sweet flavors of gingerbread? I tested a recipe by French chef Julie Andrieu and was very happy with the result: the gingerbread was not too sweet and each of the spices used in the recipe can be identified when tasting the gingerbread, which is very soft, due to some sweet wine used to soak the cake after baking it. Here is the full recipe. Enjoy!!

During lockdown, a lot of people keep themselves busy in the kitchen. Me first! It is such a pleasure to have the time to cook, to leaf through cookbooks and to list the ingredients I need, but also to compose with the food I have in my fridge and cupboards! Here is a recipe for almond and red fruit cake. A very simple recipe, which includes a little white wine, for a delicious cake. A nice surprise when it comes to tasting it!

Saffron is a specialty from the Loire Valley. It is grown by about 30 local producers in this area. Here are a few recipes that include this noble ingredient. Enjoy! Bon appétit!

A very easy recipe to use your white wine leftovers - in case there are some! We've used a Loire Valley wine made from Chenin Blanc grapes to make the recipe but any good white will do. Enjoy!

An original and delicious apple tiramisu recipe, in which coffee has been replaced by sweet wine. Yummy!
