Let's go to the Aube department, east of the city of Troyes, to discover one of the regions producing Champagne: the Côte des Bar owes its name to the Celtic word 'barr', meaning mount, mound or hill. The region is indeed very hilly, with sometimes steep vineyard slopes! The term is now used in the plural to refer to the two main towns located in the vineyard: Bar-sur-Seine and Bar-sur-Aube. During lockdown, a lot of people keep themselves busy in the kitchen. Me first! It is such a pleasure to have the time to cook, to leaf through cookbooks and to list the ingredients I need, but also to compose with the food I have in my fridge and cupboards! Here is a recipe for almond and red fruit cake. A very simple recipe, which includes a little white wine, for a delicious cake. A nice surprise when it comes to tasting it!
